Ride the Rails is an 8 day rail adventure taking in New Zealand's finest scenery by rail. Since our tours began in 2020 they have proven to be very popular amongst domestic travellers with plenty of demand from overseas travellers as well.
Seats do sell fast. Our groups have a maximum of 16 guests
Ride the Rails is a fully escorted 8 day tour from Christchurch to Auckland.
Package inclusions:

This fully escorted small group tour is a fabulous way of exploring the lower North Island. We explore Wellington City, wineries in Martinborough, New Zealand's heritage capital Napier, Taupo, New Plymouth and Whanganui. Cruise on Lake Taupo, vintage car tour in Napier, guided walking tour of New Plymouth's stunning Pukekura Park and Durie Hill, Whanganui are some of the activities included in the package.

This is a brand new tour that we are looking to launch for the 2026 / 2027 summer season. We want this to become our signature tour with additions of our other tours being included as part of this tour. This tour is 24 days and covers both the North and South Island's extensively.
The tour will operate from Auckland and finish in Christchurch. We will take in the Bay of Islands, Waiheke Island and Auckland CIty, Waitomo Caves, Rotorua and Lake Taupo, Napier, Martinborough and Greytown in the beautiful Wairarapa and Wellington. Cross to the South Island before heading to Nelson and Golden Bay, Farewell Spit, Hanmer Springs, West Coast (Franz Josef and Fox Glacier), Wanaka, Queenstown, Te Anau, Doubtful Sound, Dunedin and Christchurch. Minimum numbers apply.
