As well as our local tours in Christchurch, we also offer private and small group tours and guiding all over New Zealand. We have a wealth of experience in guiding private, family or small group tours around the North and South Islands as well as Stewart Island. We cater the tours to your interests and budget. We have contacts all over the country for accommodation, activities, adventure, culture as well as food and beverage tours. 

Over the past 6 years we have successfully hosted a number of small group tours. We feel the small group vibe is the best way to travel New Zealand. We always ensure there is plenty of private time for guests as well as enjoying activities, meals and transport with the whole group. We do all the planning, booking and arrangements for you.

Our guiding style is to drive you all around the country, take you from A to B and leave you with plenty of time and space to enjoy the activities, tours, meals and experiences for yourselves privately.

Ride the Rails

Ride the Rails is a 10 day rail adventure taking in New Zealand's finest scenery by rail. Since our tours began in 2020, they have proven to be very popular amongst domestic travellers with plenty of demand from overseas travellers as well. 

Seats do sell fast. Our groups have a maximum of 20 guests

Ride the Rails is a fully escorted 10 day tour from Auckland to Dunedin. 

Package inclusions:

  • 10 nights accommodation, 4 scenic rail journeys (Northern Explorer, Coastal Pacific, TranzAlpine and Taieri Gorge), airport transfers in Auckland and Dunedin
  • All transfers in Wellington, Picton and Christchurch
  • Inter-island ferry crossing
  • Half day day food tour of Wellington with Jon from Food and Spice Odyssey
  • A visit to the Queen Elizabeth Park for a ride on the Heritage Trams followed by morning tea

Central Heritage Tour

This fully escorted small group tour is a fabulous way of exploring the Central and Lower North Island. 

We explore Wellington City, wineries in Martinborough, New Zealand's heritage capital Napier, Taupo, New Plymouth and Whanganui.

Our enhanced tour, restarting in 2026, will include a visit to Rotorua and it's incredible new Wai Ariki Day Spa, we will have an entry pass for that, plus an amazing cultural dinner, performance and hot chocolate watching the geysers at Te Puia. 

This tour takes a maximum of 18 guests. All transport in a spacious van. We require a minimum of 8 guests to operate this tour.

A Taste of the South

This tour is the perfect way to sample the best of the deep south of New Zealand's South Island. 

Dunedin – Catlins Coast – Bluff - Stewart Island - Invercargill - Te Anau – Doubtful Sound – Queenstown – Arrowtown

We will have a maximum of 15 guests on the tour. Minimum numbers apply.

The Antipodean Explorer (our flagship full New Zealand tour) 

This is a brand new tour that we are looking to launch for the 2026 / 2027 summer season. We want this to become our signature tour with additions of our other tours being included as part of this tour. This tour is 21 days and covers both the North and South Island's extensively. 

The tour will operate from Auckland and finish in Christchurch. We will take in the Bay of Islands, Waiheke Island and Auckland CIty, Waitomo Caves, Rotorua and Lake Taupo, Napier, Martinborough and Greytown in the beautiful Wairarapa and Wellington. Cross to the South Island before heading to Nelson and Golden Bay, Farewell Spit, Hanmer Springs, West Coast (Franz Josef and Fox Glacier), Wanaka, Queenstown, Te Anau, Fiordland and Christchurch. Minimum numbers apply.
